I am searching for parents of John R.Boyer, born 6 Jan 1844 in Berks County, PA.

  • He was a private in 209 Pennsylvania Infantry Company A, mustering in at Harrisburg, PA.
  • He requested leave to visit parents in Cumberland County 16 Feb 1865.
  • He was discharged 21 May 1865 at Alexandria, VA
  • 13 May 1868 John R. Boyer married Mary Elizabeth Essick in BerrienSprings, Mich.
  • Children:
  • Clyde Essick Boyer (born 1869) (My grandfather)
  • Grace Irene (born 1872) Taught in Berrien Springs until 1876 Moved to Decatur, Ill.
  • Raymond Richard (sometimes referred to as Richard Raymond) born 1876 Died in Decatur, Ill 1891. Obituary states "mother living in Pennsylvania."
  • In my grandmother's (Nellie Alice Cackley Boyer) address book, I found a reference to "Ella Boyer" who my mother called "Aunt Ella." I traced Ella's line thinking I would find a connection (which I didn't.) EllaÕs line begins with:
