I have just started research on this branch of my tree and am seeking everything I can find which pertains to the BLEVINS...
My great grandmother was a Negro and I never knew her since she was long gone before I ever was around. She married Jerry THOMPSON (b.1859, of S. Carolina) and they lived in Noxubee Co., Mississippi. Now, I have a couple of photographs of her and I knew my grandfather, Jerry THOMPSON, Jr. (b.1895) and there is an unmistakable Native American streak in there. Moreover, family legend has it that Anderson's father was a full blooded Cherokee while his mother, a slave, was also of Native American descent. How would I go about getting more information on this? I would appreciate any and all information, as well as helpful tips. Thank you in advance for your time and effort.
p.s. I am also interested in John F. BLEVINS (b. c1828) of Dallas Co. He was a white physician...
Can you help me?
I want to research my family geneology, but don't know where to start.

I have been researching my particular Blevins family for several years.
My 4th great grandfather was Elisha Blevins (b.ca.1809 in Lee Co.,VA?). he married Alsey Tackett the daughter of Lewis Tackett and Susannah Sumpter. I believe Elisha's father might have been a William Blevins.
My great-grandmother was Mary Ellen Blevins, born 23 Sept 1824 in Mt. Vernon, Bullitt Co., KY (now Mt. Washington). She married Peter Sharpe Dickinson in Bullitt Co., KY, in June, 1844.
Her father was James Blevins (born about 1785, parents and place not yet known, died in late 1830 or early 1831, probably in Mt. Washington, KY). His wife's name was Mary--that's all I have at present on her.
There were several other children in this family--another daughter, Ann, younger than Mary Ellen; and at least one son, James, born in 1830 or 1831. Ann and James were living with Mary Ellen and Peter Dickinson in Peoria, Ill., in 1850, where they appear on the federal census.
Sometime after 1850 this younger James Blevins married a Charlotte somebody. Subsequently, according to family lore, he was a steamboat captain on the Mississippi and he went up with his vessel (literally) when it blew up on the river. But I have no verification of this. This James and Charlotte had several children, one of whom, in her 30s, was living with the widow Charlotte in 1900 in St. Louis, according to the census of that year.
Mary Ellen Blevins Dickinson lived until 1903, and on the 1900 census is reported to have indicated that both of her parents were born in South Carolina. Thus far, I have had no luck locating South Carolina Blevinses in the census records of 1790 or 1800 or 1810. But they are fairly thick in NORTH Carolina. Could Mary Ellen have mis-remembered? I have not been able to make a connection between my James Blevins and any Blevinses in North Carolina--or anywhere else.
So I seek information about both James Blevinses--the ancestory of the elder and the descendants of the younger.
My dad's sister is named Roberta (Bobbie) and she currently resides in Jonesboro, TN. She had three children by two different husbands: Robert, born in New Jersey (and currently in Atlanta, GA); Beverly, born in new Jersey (and currently in Johnson City, TN); and Annie, born in Houston, TX (and currently in Fort Worth, TX). Before my mother died she got a lot of this information. My cousin, Robert Levin, who lives in Atlanta, GA, may have it. If I can be of help I will.
My father's grandmother was Nettie Blevins, who ran a boarding house in Johnson City, TN. She married Jim Blevins. Nettie died in the mid-1980s, around 1984 or 1985.
I am descended from the Blevins family That settled along Little River in Grayson County, Va. about 1770. Can you provided any information about John Blevins #1606 and James Blevins #1607. One of the original Blevins to settle here in the county was John Blevins. He may have been known as Jackey Blevins. John married Catherine Cox. Catherine was the daughter of Lt. David Cox. Any information that you might have concerning the Blevins that settled in Grayson County would be greatly appreciated.
It is interesting to note that the Blevins of Grayson County settled where Little Rivers empties into New River. Many early settlers followed the New River into N.C. and Tenn.

I noted in your database a John Blevins b.1813 m. to Pinkey Cheek. Do you have any information on where they lived or where they were from? My Lucinda Blevins b. 1844 to 1848, Mo. Lived in Mo, Ar, Tx and Ok. Her only known sister was named Rhoda or Rhodia. Any help would be appreciated.

Any info you might have would be gratly appreciated.
Now, for my problem! I'm working on my great great grandmother Martha D. "Patsey" Blevins, b: Oct. 26, 1796. She married my gg grandfather Caleb Morrell, b: 9/1/1787 and married April 20, 1823. I can not find anything else about her as the court house in Sullivan County, Tn. burned during the Civil War and so did birth, marriage and death records. Would you'all have come across her name in any of your research? I have been led to believe her father was John Blevins, but which one? There are several Blevins's married throughout our Morrell line. The Morrell's came through the Shenandoah Valley across the Morrell Trail into Carter County and settled in Hickory Tree. My mother's old home place still stands and is on Morrell Creek.
I attended the Sullivan County Genealogical Society's reunion last month and purchased several books, one being the History of Sullivan County. There is a picture of the Blevins' Plantation and story about it, if you have not seen this, let me know and I will be happy to make a copy of it and mail it to you.
I have unsuccessfully tried to backtrack each family to find the origins of my William LEWIS. Obvious connections, but nothing
definitive. They all have links to Pittsylvannia>Henry Co VA areas, but I'm at a brickwall. Any Lewis's names sound familiar in your search?
Other names from Greasy Cove of interest were the WEBBS,DILLARDS,HUTCHINS,RIGSBYS,JULIANS,TINKER,TITLE,FOSTER,CLOUSE,MOON,
along withn the LOVES and SEVIERS
Any suggestions appreciated.
I am interestered in connecting my Malinda Blevins. I have all the information on son Burvie on down.
This is the information I was working off of until I was given the above information from a cousin who said someone had given it to her years ago.
I am looking for Burr/Burvie Lewis born to Joseph Lewis and Milinda Blevins Lewis Burr was born 12 04 1853 have been told Hamilton Co., TN.
1850 Marion County, TN Census 447-816
Joseph 38 born KY Farmer (Both Joseph and Milinda would of been born abt.
Milinda 38 born KY 1812).
Benjamin 17 born TN
Johnathan 15 b. TN
Talton 13 born TN
Jane 6 born TN
Emberson 4 Born TN
Willson 9 months old born Tn
Then would of come my Burvie Lewis after this census.
I still think that the second information (Census is the right one as far as time frame for Burvie being born in 1853.) Burr married a Juliette Goodman either in KY or IL they had all of their children in Paducah, McCracken Co., KY. There is like 10 yrs difference between the first Milinda and this Milinda on the census.
Would like to hear from anyone working on any of the information above, maybe somehow I can figure out which line is mine.
Why in all this material can't I find the name Linkhorn Blevins? He lived in the Powell Valley area of Va., And also was predominate figure in wise co., Va. He was the son of Daniel Blevins, Jr. Linkhorn lived and died in the wise co., Va. Area having owned several hundred acres of land. My g-grandfather Alexander was his eldest son. Alexander migrated to bath-Montgomery co., Ky. Area about 1868. He previous married two women from va., One marriage took place in Whitesburg, Ky. The other I’m not sure. Alex served about one year in the confederate army. There is a linkhorn Blevins cemetery in the city of wise, va.. I need help in finding Linkhorn's mothers name. I have been told its Lucy Roberts but, this has to be a mistake. I'm no expert in researching but have substantial data on Daniel Blevins, Jr.'s family. Thanks for reading this, would appreciate any info or lead you might toss my way.

George W. Blevins ... born in Independence County, AR ... buried in
Ozark, MO
James Thomas Blevins ... on the 1860 Independence County, AR census
wife Rosanah Blevins shows up on the 1870 Christian County, MO census
living with George.
A James Blevins shows up on the Washington County, VA census with the
Gatewood Blevins household, as does Peter and Eliza Blevins. All of the
ages stay consistent with these individuals as they all show up on the
Independence County, AR 1860 census, Eliza being a Davis by then.
However ...
I have a copy of Gatewood's will, filed on September 12, 1868. He
distinguishes his three sons John, David and William and his three
daughters Sarah, Lucinda, and Elizabeth as beneficiaries of his property,
and how to divide it up. Then he gives James, Peter, and Eliza $5.00.
Maybe I'm reading more into this than necessary, but could it be possible
that one of Gatewood's brothers died and Gatewood and Catherine took
these three into their household? If this is possible, how can I find
out who James' parents were?
If Gatewood Blevins is truly James Thomas' father, that is wonderful, and
my months of empty searching has paid off. I just want to be sure.
Also, I cannot find what happened to James. Please send me anything you
may have to shed some light on this dilemma.
Specifically, I'd like info on Gatewood Blevins (2355) a James Thomas
that may match my description, and Rosy Blevins (2423.) Thank you so
much!!!
If you're interested, I can send you all I have, which at this time isn't
much, but I'd be glad to share what I have..
I found your address on the INGEN WEB site. I am looking for information on the Blevins family in Indiana.
My maternal grandfather was a Blevins. I have traced his family line back to Hezekiah Blevins in Sullivan Co. IN. From census records for Sullivan Co. in 1840 & 1850 I know that Hezekiah was born in Virginia. I suspect that his father was James Blevins who was born in New England on Dec. 25, 1762.
I was wondering if you would have any information that definitely connects Hezekiah to James. Or if you would have any information on Hezekiah and his family? The family seems to vanish after Hezekiah's death in 1869.

Am researching Gatewood Blevins (#2) who was born about 1813 and died after 1860 census. I believe that his wife, Elizabeth, may have been the daughter of John & Nancy Ann (Glover) Sams. Gatewood's daughter, Nancy Jane married William Wallace and died on the way west to Oklahoma and Texas. b She died about 1862, I believe - my files are not at hand!
In 1850 census of Sullivan County there is a Nancy Sams in the household of Gatewood & Elizabeth Blevins of the age to be Elizabeth's mother. In the next census Nancy Sams is residing with Gatewood's daughter, Nancy Jane (Blevins) Wallace. I know that there are 2 Gatewoods and that one apparently doesn't descended from the other.
Also, I, too, wonder about the instrument that names Gatewood as an heir and descendant of William Blevins but continues on to name John Blevins as William's son. Where does the Indian come into this family? Nancy Jane (Blevins) Wallace's children have Indian roll #'s.
Was interested to see your Blevins web page. I've long been aware of the
VA/NC/TN Blevins families, although I am not directly related. My mother's
family was Blevins, of Boston Protestant Irish stock. This group descends
from a number of brothers and cousins who came to Boston and New York
between 1849 and 1870 or so from County Armagh in Northern Ireland. They
seem to have been in Armagh since about the middle 18th century, maybe
earlier, and are by tradition ultimately of Welsh origin. Before Armagh, I
suspect they connect to a numerous Blevin/Blevins found in coastal villages
near Liverpool, just across the Irish sea in England and not far from Wales.
The surname is a rare one (despite the fecundity of your branch of the
family), and I suspect there is likely some connection way back. Have you
developed any clues to your William Blevins' origin? Placing his family as
part of the early Scots-Irish migration to SE Pennsylvania would seem a good
bet.

I am a professional writer, author of twelve books, and have started researching Blevins folks over the last several years, mostly interested in the Cherokee connection. I have a complete list of the Blevinses who were enrolled as Cherokees in the Dawes Census (the only census the tribe now recognizes) at the turn of the century. May write something. Glad to share info.
My father was Winfred Ernest Blevins, Sr. (birth certificate name Winfred Earl), b. 1908; grandfather Thomas Washington Blevins. These are Arkansas Blevinses, and I have somewhat more. If anyone know much of the ancestry of Thomas Washington Blevins, I'd like to have info.
I am researching my husband's family, BLEVINS. I visited your web site just now and found that my husband is descended from William also. His grandfather's parents were Daniel Morgan and Katherine Sandy Blevins of Atchison Co, MO. I am rater new at this but have a fair amount of info.Let me know what info you may be interested in. I am searching for a Martha Blevins born abt. 1866 in MO who married E.A. Dalrymple. May "your" Martha Blevins born abt. 1866 in Fairfax be the lady I'm looking for? How can I find out more about her to ascertain if she is in fact my great, great grandma?
I have information about JOHN RANSOM BLEVINS. He was my g-grandfather.

married 2 times:
1) Darthula Spurlock in Lee County VA
2) Lucy Wynn in Harlan County KY (my g-grandmother)
I have a lot of information. If you are interested e-mail me
I am working the family of Riley Blevins, b. ca. 1817 in Lee County, VA, who moved in approximately 1820/21, with his parents and other family members to Floyd County, KY. In 1835, he married Sarah Barker, and, in 1845, moved his young family to the South Fork of Clifty Creek, a tributary of the Little Sandy River, in Carter County, KY. He subsequently married Elizabeth Lawson, the widow of a Mr. Harris. He and Elizabeth may have divorced, as she moves, with their children, to Kansas and, in 1865 (?) he married a third time, to Mary Boggs. He may have been the son of a William Blevins, b. ca. 1782, and a Sarah (maiden name unknown), b. ca. 1785. I am looking for his descendants, ancestors and his siblings and their families. My e-mail is dboggs@porterwright.com and my U.S. mail is 3936 Rose Hill Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229.
Glad someone is looking up all those William Blevins. Its hard to do. My father was William David Blevins born 1893-1987, his father was William Jackson Blevins 99yrs old, died 1954, his father was David Newman Blevins ? his father was William David Blevins. Probably born in Ky, or Tn. Moved family to OKla with the Indian Movement. She was Cherokee. If you are connected with any of these people or know about any of them, please write to me.
I am not sure if you have obtained this line from "kitchy" or not? I just sent her an updated confirmed list of the Samuel Looney Blevins descendants. I have a picture of his tombstone from the Haskew Cemetery in Woodward, Okla. County. Also I have a listing of his children with only one being questionable. One of his children is William Blevins which was my grandfather and I detailed information concerning his life along with his children. If you have not acquired the above information on this generation from Kitchy or Roy Godsey, I would be more than happy to send it to you.
My husband is a descendant of John Isom Blevins, born 9/5/1850 in Crawford CO, Indiana, married on 1/7/1871 in the same county to Winifred Lucinda Dooley. John died on 2/23/1924 in Crawford Co and is buried in the Sloan Cemetery near English, Indiana. He and Lucinda had Elizabeth [Veatch], Mary Mabel [Schoonover], George William who never married, Annie Estella [Austin--my husbands gt grandmother], Leona [Nichols, Lewis], John Anthony, and Alva R.
According to Civil War records, John I. is the son of William Blevins, born about 1815 in Ky, and died in Nashville, Tenn. 3/11/1863 of measles during an epidemic in the Union Camp there. He married twice, first to Sarah "Sallie" Crawford in June of 1848. By her he had John Isom, James W., George W., and Nancy E [Hunt]. Following the death of Sallie in 1861, he married Nancy Jane Roberson on 2/6/1862. There were no children. Court records indicate a problem over the pension of William with the second wife trying to get his pension over the rights of the children who were underage at the time. The children won the case and the second wife disappears from the family history.
There is reason to believe William is the son of James Blevins who was residing in Crawford Co., Indiana in 1850, living with a daughter, Elizabeth "Betsy" Brown and her husband, Zack. Possible children other than the Elizabeth Brown, are William who married Sallie Crawford, Sarah who married Cyprian Bennett, Mary, Willabe who married possibly a Catherine Pearson, Nancy who married James Kee/Key, and Matilda who married George Snider, all in Crawford Co., Indiana.
This James was born about 1781 in Virginia according to the 1850 census.
I know very little else about this family, would like to connect it back further if possible. At least 6 of his children were born in Kentucky, but where is unknown.
Any help would be appreciated, at least a direction in which to search would be nice. Most of what I know is from research done in the early 60's by me, while working in the Indiana History Room of the New Albany, Indiana Library and from an aunt of my husbands, Nadine Roberts Hammond of English, Indiana. Glad to share what little I have.

I am seeking the parents of James Blevins, born about 1781 in Virginia [?}. He may have married in Ky about 1808-10 to Sarah ? This much was gleaned from an 1850 Crawford County, Indiana census. For certain, he had a son, William who was born in Ky in 1815.
William married June 14, 1848 in Crawford County, Indiana to Sarah Crawford. They had the following children: 1. John Isom, born Oct. 5, 1849 in Crawford Co., and married to Winifred Lucinda Dooley on Jan. 8, 1871. 2. James W. who was born about 1854 and died young. 3. George W., born June 26, 1856, died Oct. 8, 1909 and married on March 16, 1879 to Rachel Redden. 4. Nancy E. born Oct. 10, 1859 and married to ? Hunt.
Following the death of Sarah Crawford Blevins, William married Nancy Jane Roberson in Crawford Co., Indiana. There are no known children of this marriage.
William died in Nashville, Tenn. during a measle epidemic during the Civil War and is most likely buried in that area. He was in the Indiana 81st Regiment, Company H of the volunteer infantry. His first wife is buried in Potato Run Churchyard in the Harrison-Crawford State Forestry in southern Indiana, with no marker to show the exact location of her grave. The second wife filed to receive his pension, which the four children of the first marriage opposed in court.
My husband descends from the son of William, John Isom.
Seeking anyone who can give me a clue on which direction to search for
the parents of William. One relative said they came from North
Carolina, but census records clearly indicate they were from Virginia.
I am researching my children's family line.
My son carries the family name of David Carroll BLEVINS
His grand father is Robert Kyle BLEVINS
son of:
Arthur BLEVINS b.5 Oct 1894? d. 25 April 1949
m. Madonna HARRELL ( Harrill?)
son of:
David Lincoln BLEVINS ( David S.?) b. 1862 d. 27 July 1937 m. Manda McMAHAN 10 Jan. 1889 in Yancy Co. N.C.
son of:
(Rev.?)Wiley BLEVINS b. abt. 1812 d. bef. 1880 Mitchell Co. N.C.
Shown in Yancy Co. census 1840-1860, Mitchell Co. 1870
m. Rebecca ( Hunnycutt? b. 1816?)
I think Wiley is the son of Nathan BLEVINS b. 1765 and 1785 d. bef. 1850 m. Hannah ?
Is David S. the David Lincoln mentioned in the family Bible. This is where I get lost.
The Lincoln middle name doesn't fit in my research.
Thanks in advance for any help.
I, too, am seeking information on Gatewood Blevins born ca 1810/1813 and resided in Sullivan Co, TN. Wife, Elizabeth (THOUGHT to be Elizabeth Sams, d/o of John Sams, Jr. and Nancy Glover). Gatewood and Elizabeth's dau. Nancy Jane Blevins was supposed to be at least 1/2 Indian and married William Wallace. Migrated from Sullivan Co, TN thru OK into AR and somewhere along the way Nancy Jane died. Her family finally settled in the Hill-Ellis Co, TX area. What was relationship between Col. William Blevins and Gatewood Blevins b. about 1787? Any help would be appreciated.
I am searching for the daughter of Nathan Blevins and Lucy Combs. They married 1/22/1846 in Atchison Co., Mo and had daughter Elsie A. in 1847. Nathan died in Wyoming (year not definite), then Lucy married my ggggrandfather James Armstrong Gilkison on 11/27/1852 in Atchison Co. However, Elsie was never raised with them. I have been working with Combs researchers and no luck yet, so thought I would try Blevins. Was Elsie raised by maternal or paternal relatives or did she die, and if so when? Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
I am researching David Lincoln BLEVINS born in 1862 and died 27 July 1937. He married (1) Amanda McMahon in Yancy County,NC 10 Jan 1889 and (2) Billie BARNES after Amanda's death.David lived in Mitchell and Yancy Counties in NC before moving to Unicoi or Carter Co TN. David's father was Wiley BLEVINS who married Rebecca HONEYCUTT. Wiley BLEVINS was the son of Nathan BLEVINS and Hannah. Most of this information comes the family Bible of Kyle and Nina BLEVINS. Kyle BLEVINS is the grandson of David Lincoln BLEVINS. I would like to communicate with anyone who is also researching this linage.
my great grandfather was John Blevins. He is buried in the Civil War Vets area of a large cemetery in Ironton OH. I have a picture of him and my great grandmother. Her name was Harriett RoseAnn Patrick. Any info is deeply appreciated. Thank you. I haven't been able to trace either side.
I have just read your Blevins' "Data from Wm T Clark" and the names and locations are all tying in with the info I have from my father's family. His name was Everett Marian (Marien) Blevins, b. 1909 in Dover, OK. However, I didn't find his gr.father, James Edward Blevins, b. 13 May 1860 m. to Nettie Bowen, b. 20 Mar 1865 in Farmington, Graves Co. KY. James Edward's father was Elisha Blevins, b. 1 Mar 1826, m. 13 Apr 1848 to Margaret. I have the page from Elisha's Bible (photstat copy).
Would really appreciate hearing from you if you think our info matches. One generation of Blevins' married into several members of the Hall family & also Hill & Johnson famillies
Thank you for any info you can supply.
My ancestoral line is: Me(Francis Marion Blevins (Dale-female in spite of spelling of names), father: Ira Walter Blevins (dob 4 Oct 1895 - believe it or not, he is still alive and is going to be given the French Medal of Honor the last of this month for serving in WWI), grandfather: Augustus Marion Blevins (DOB 1 Sept l870 in Arkansas), gr-grandfather: Joseph Blevins, (dob - don't have records in front of me but he was born in Alabama in 1830s), gr-gr-grandfather Armistead Blevins, again records not here in front of me but it was either in Alabama or Tenn. Armistead was the son of Josiah Joseph Blevins. According to my records, census, etc, Josiah was born about 1780 in Virginia. Parents unknown but family bible lists - no, I'm not positive about father's name without looking it up - was either John or James but not proven. Josiah had an illegitimate son, James, mother unknown who was born in 1800 in Tenn, raised by Josiah and killed during Civil War by bushwackers. Josiah, Jr. died fairly young and therefore is not mentioned in his father's will. There was a terrible legal battle over Josiah Blevins will in that he left everything to his lawyers and nothing to his children. This went on for years and when finally settled, there naturally was nothing left.
Being a Blevins, my tongue is tied in the middle and flops at both ends. I do love to ramble on and hope I haven't bored you too much. I would appreciate any help and/or suggestions you could give me in sorting, typing and entering all of this stuff so other people could use it too. In the past, I did go through and make a list of all of the info regarding Blevins that I had starting in the 1700s, listing names, places, spouses, dates and events. This shows quite a pattern in helping to show when and where families went. Also, the Blevins sure were limited in first names. Seemed to love William, John, James, etc.
I am looking for Sarah (Sallie) BLEVINS who m. Jacob Meek, probably late 1700's or early 1800's Tn. Jacob's brother, Jeremiah m. Elizabeth Blevins in Blount Co., Tn in 1802. Jacob and Sarah's son, John Wesley Meek (b. Marion Co. Tn. 1820) m. NANCY BLEVINS b. 4/5/1825 Tn. Nancy and John Wesley Meek were married in Carroll Co., Ark. in 1843. She died in Bastrop Co., Texas in 1877. Who was Sarah (Sallie) and who was Nancy?
Seeking any information on "Wat" Alfred Walters Blevins. His son John M. may be my great-grandfather. Any information on this line would be helpful.

I am looking for information on my grandfather James W. Blevins. Nickname Jim. (the W doesn't stand for anything). He was originally from Missouri and was probably born between 1910-1918. He moved to Arkansas. He and my grandmother, Dorothy Davis Blevins, lived in Jonesboro. He died in the early 1970s.
I'm searching for: John Blevins, b. Nov 1849, IL, according to 1900 Dickinson Co, KS census, and hat His faterh was born in KY, his mother in NC. I'm interested in finding information about his parents/siblings. John and Mary had been married 29 years, per censu, which would indicate they were married ca 1871, probably in IL. Same census information indicates that Mary Yokum ws b. May, 1851 in IL, and that both of her parents were born in IL.
They had two children: William, b. July 1876, in MO (per census); and Lucinda, b. Feb 1880 at Sand Springs, KS; she married Byron A. Lyday in Feb 1899 in Manchester, KS. It is through Lucinda that I'm researching the Blevins-Yokum surnames.
Any assistance is appreciated, and if I can add anything to your records, please let me know.

I am enlightened to see that you are helping people to find their family history. I am a former Blevins, and have enjoyed reading through your list of that surname. I do not know enough about my Blevins history to really search it. All that I know is that my father is Barry Lynn Blevins, and that he has a sister named Barbera.Barry married my mother in 1974 her name was Sharon Raye Robertson at the time. I was Shadow Lynn Blevins.
I have not know my father or his family. And though all i hope to achieve is knoweledge of my geneaology, my dream is to one day introduce my daughter to the person that i still think about on a regular basis.
The last I heard, Barry was working around the Galveston or Port Lavaca Tx area. If you have any information about the Blevins from south Tx, I would forever be in your debt.
Thank you again for your work in bringing families together.
Here is a story about a Blevins family in KY
I am looking for any info on a Elisabeth Blevins or a Elijah Blevins which is her father. He married a Betsy Jacks. They are form Ash county NC. Elisabeth Blevins was born Aug 22 1860 she was married to a Jacob Wilson Hudler. she was 1/2 Cherokee.
My mother was adopted when she was 7 so I know a little of her family but I'm missing several pieces. Her grandmother was Gertrude Buckles Blevins and is buried in the Weaver Cemetery, Sullivan Co.TN. I think she may have been married to John M. son of Alfred and Rebecca Cross Blevins for they are also buried here with several of their other children.
Records have Alfred the son of John H. and Leanah Blevins. Do have any information on the parent of John ot Leanah? John born abt 1806 TN Leanah born about 1816 NC.
Do you have any information about John M. born abt.1878 died 1944 or a
Thedore Henry Blevins?
Ted was my grandfather this much I do know. His name was spelled this
way on my mother birth and school records.
I have more information on Samuel Looney Blevins and Hugh T.V. Blevins than you show. Are you interested? What is your relationship or purpose?
